OUR VISION:
We want to see students become fully devoted disciples of Christ.
Who we are
-
CREEK STUDENTS is our ministry to middle and high school students at Tidal Creek where teens and preteens can connect with God and each other and grow in their discipleship journey.
IGNITE is what we call our weekly gatherings for students on Wednesdays - 6th - 12th grade students come together each week during the school year for a fun and engaging small group discussion, Biblical teaching from Pastor Josh or one of our other leaders, games, worship, and more!
-
IGNITE meets on Wednesday nights during the school year from 7 - 8:30pm. Doors open at 6:30 for hangout time, snacks, and occasionally a meal, so students are encouraged to arrive early!
-
In addition to our Wednesday night small group discussion time, we have LifeGroups for high school guys and high school girls that meet on Sunday nights during the school year from 6-8 PM!
-
In addition to our weekly gatherings, we occasionally have events or trips for our students!
Our annual trips include our Winter Retreat and our summer camp with Fuge Camps. We occasionally will have smaller trips and/or mission trips.
We also have activities/events that take place throughout the year. Check out our events section below for our latest upcoming events.

MINISTRY VALUES:
-
We don’t merely want behavior modification; we want everything we do to be centered on the gospel as revealed in Scripture. We want to call students to respond to the gospel in faith and repentance, and engage them in three ways: head, heart, and hands. For students who have put their faith in Christ, we seek to train and equip them to grow in their faith and be ambassadors for Christ.
-
Students crave community, and the gospel provides that community. We believe that the primary way believers are discipled is in the context of relationships, and we want to nurture that by providing contexts for students to grow in intentional relationships with one another and leaders while also seeking to welcome newcomers into the fold.
-
As long as students live at home in a Christian household, their parents play an invaluable role in their discipleship and our ministry cannot, and should not, replace that role; therefore, we aim to serve the family as a whole by involving, resourcing, encouraging, and partnering with parents.
-
As a ministry, we aim to prepare students for when they leave the home, and a big part of this is their relationship with Christ’s bride. As such, we aim to provide ways for students to prepare for, and participate in, membership, giving, and service in the local church.
-
We aim to make disciples who then go and make disciples. All believers are called to make disciples, and we want to nurture that in our students and encourage and equip them to fulfill their role in God’s mission, even now.

JOIN US for our winter retreat!
Students who have completed grades 6-12 are invited to join us for our winter retreat at TEEN VALLEY RANCH IN PLUMTREE, NC on february 13-16, 2026.
Join us for a (longer!) weekend full of activities, worship, recreation, Bible study, small groups, and more!
FAQ:
-
WHAT TO EXPECT: Get ready for a weekend of solid biblical teaching, Gospel-focused worship, high-adventure recreation, and small groups, all designed to fuel the faith of our students and to encourage them to keep pursuing Jesus in their lives!
LONGER RETREAT: With this weekend being a long holiday weekend, and most of our students will actually have part of that week off, this is going to be a 4-day retreat instead of 3, meaning we will leave Friday, February 13 and return Monday, February 16 for an extra day compared to what we are often able to do on a weekend!
ACTIVITIES: TVR offers many recreation options during free time, including a rock wall, zip line (for HS), archery range, horseback riding, putt putt, hiking, basketball court, and more!
And this year, we will also be going SNOW TUBING at Jonas Ridge on one of our afternoons that weekend! -
The total cost for the Winter Retreat is $225* which includes worship, teaching, recreation, lodging, transportation, and most meals. A non-refundable deposit of $75 is due at the time of registration to secure your preteen/teen’s spot on the retreat.
*NOTE: Total cost goes up to $250 after November 19, so be sure to register with your deposit by November 19 to secure the $225 rate!
If you are in need of financial assistance, please contact me at josh@tidalcreek.net - we never want money to be the reason a student can’t attend our Winter Retreat!
Students will need spending money for a fast food meal on the way back home, and anything optional while on the trip (e.g. snacks at travel stops or the snack shop at the retreat, merch, etc.).
