"For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me. Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me."

Matthew 25:35-40

LOCAL Impact

We are driven by a commitment to address the vital issues impacting our community. We focus on ensuring the well-being of children, discipling kids and teens, addressing food insecurity, combating addiction, and sharing the joy and hope of the Gospel with our neighbors.

Join us as we come together with local organizations to implement solutions to these complex challenges. Explore how your involvement can make a significant impact on our community.

Backpack Buddies

For 8+ years, we have partnered with Waters Edge United Methodist Church to bring Backpack Buddies to our community. Backpack Buddies helps alleviate food insecurity by providing weekend meals for about 40 students in need at one of our local elementary schools.

In 2025, we collected, sorted, and distributed almost 1,000 backpacks with weekend meals for these students. You can participate in this ministry by donating food items during our yearly collections or by giving to our Backpack Buddies fund.

SECOND HELPINGS FOOD PANTRY

Over 20,000 Lowcountry neighbors face hunger and food insecurity. Second Helpings is a nonprofit food rescue and distribution network that collects extra food from local grocery stores and distributes it to those in need.

Tidal Creek partners with Second Helpings as a Food Pantry location every Friday from 4-5 PM. We serve an average of 120 people each week. Each year, we also provide meal kits (turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, etc.) for families to make a Thanksgiving meal in their own home.

You can support this ministry by volunteering at the Food Pantry or giving financially to Tidal Creek Fellowship.

SAMARITAN’S FEET SHOE DISTRIBUTIONS

Samaritan’s Feet believes that “a new pair of shoes can provide a tangible foundation of hope and the opportunity for a better life, prompt children to focus in school and families not to worry, and protect feet to decrease the possibility of getting a foot-borne disease.”

Since 2021, we have partnered with Samaritan’s Feet to put hundreds of pairs of brand new shoes on the feet of kids in our community. Each year, we host the Barefoot Gala, a fundraiser (dinner/auction) to raise money for shoes. We then take a team of volunteers to a local school (or schools) to fit children for new socks and shoes. Every child in the school walks away with a new pair of shoes.

COMMUNITY PARTNERS

Our community partners are doing significant and strategic work in our local area. We are committed to supporting their mission through financial support and/or cooperative programs.

“Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.” Psalm 96:3

Global reach

Jesus commands us to go and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19–20), and the end goal of missions is the worship of Jesus by people from every nation (Revelation 7:9). The call includes serving, sending, giving, and going.

Through national and global partnerships, we at Tidal Creek Fellowship seek to be the hands and feet of Jesus across the globe by caring for and supporting children, encouraging our deployed troops, providing clean water for those in developing nations, reaching the incarcerated with hope and truth, and taking the gospel to the nations.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse, is a global mission whose goal is to provide shoeboxes filled with small toys, hygiene items, & school supplies to children around the world as a means of reaching communities with the Gospel. Each year, Tidal Creek Fellowship members fill hundreds of shoeboxes for this cause.

In addition to shoeboxes donated by individuals, our Creek Kids Children’s Ministry spends one Sunday packing shoeboxes with items purchased with money raised during our summer Sports Camp and other donations. Our Creek Kids excitedly choose items for their boxes, trying to pick what another little girl or boy would cherish. It is an opportunity for our children to be part of the mission to take the Gospel to the ends of earth.

SHALOM & ESPERANZA IN SUCRE, BOLIVIA

Each year in December, Tidal Creek Fellowship sends a mission team to Sucre, Bolivia to serve at Shalom and Esperanza Children’s Homes. At Shalom and Esperanza, orphaned and abandoned children from the streets are placed in a home on-site with a small family structure consisting of house parents and siblings. Through these orphanages, God is transforming lives and redeeming brokenness.

During our yearly trip to serve in Sucre, our team assists with construction projects by laying brick, painting, putting together furniture, woodworking, etc. — whatever is needed for the current improvement projects on site. We also spend time with the children cooking, doing crafts and sewing, playing games, performing skits, laughing a lot, and showing the love of Christ in any way we can. If you go on one of these Bolivia trips, you will bless others and be immensely blessed yourself.
