LifeGroups are where “real family” begins at Tidal Creek!  Because our groups are as individual as the people that form them, each LifeGroup is a unique expression of Christian community. However, there are some elements that will be common to every group.

Relationship-building. We love to have fun and to enjoy each other’s company at our group meetings and at other events.  Fellowshipping together forms the relationships that transform a LifeGroup into family.

A time to study the Bible. Every Fall, we kickoff our new LifeGroup year with a churchwide study.  We love the energy and conversational “buzz” that studying the same material at the same time brings.  Once the Fall study is over, groups can either pursue their own topics or particular sections of Scripture.

A time of sharing and prayer. LifeGroups provide a time to talk conversationally with God about our needs and concerns and praise Him for His work in our lives.  Don’t worry – no one will ask you to pray out loud or to share if you don’t want to!  We believe that people should grow spiritually at their own pace.

Outreach and service. One of the goals of every group is to share God’s love with others through “invest and invite” – investing your life in the lives of friends, co-workers and family, and then inviting them to your LifeGroup.  Each group also does two service projects a year in our community.

Discovering and using your gifts.  Tidal Creek Fellowship strongly supports mentoring and development of spiritual gifts on a personal level within LifeGroups.  Service may take the shape of making a meal for a sick group member, or it may mean taking on a project in the community, like Family Promise or HELP of Beaufort.  If you don’t know how God has uniquely gifted you for ministry, check out the spiritual gifts inventory by clicking here!
Our LifeGroup calendar is divided into terms, followed by breaks, which helps keep groups and leaders fresh.  Fall term runs late August through the end of November.  Winter term lasts from January through mid-March and Spring term mid-March through May.  After that, most of our groups take the summer off, but we do offer Summer Connection Groups, 6-week groups in June and July that are either Bible studies, supper clubs or fun topics like tennis and sewing.

All of our groups have an “open chair” policy, which means that visitors are welcomed during the year.  For more information, visit the “Find A LifeGroup” section of the website or contact Leslie Rowell, our LifeGroups Pastor, at or 843-522-3217.
