Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. Allow me to introduce myself.

I am David Holland, the founding pastor of Tidal Creek Fellowship. In September 2001 my wife and I began meeting in our living room with 7 other families for the express purpose of planting a new church on Lady’s Island. It was our desire to create a Christ-centered fellowship with an accepting “come as you are” atmosphere. It has been an amazing journey! We have seen scores of people discover life in Jesus Christ! This never gets old! Yet it seems that we’ve only scratched the surface.

I am a native of North Carolina (Winston-Salem and Cary) and it was there that I attended high school, college, and seminary. Both my parents and my brother and his family still reside in areas near Raleigh, North Carolina. I met my wife, Margie, during our college days at Campbell University and we have now been married for 32 years. Prior to coming to Beaufort, we have served churches in Greensboro and Louisburg, North Carolina, and Oak Ridge, Tennessee. We arrived in Beaufort in 1994 when I was asked to join the staff of The Baptist Church of Beaufort as Minister of Youth. In addition to being my partner in ministry, my wife Margie has been teaching middle school for 33 years. Presently she teaches at Beaufort Middle School. We have been blessed with two wonderful adult children, Rachel and William. And I guess I should mention our two dachshunds, Baxter and Winston. They are ALWAYS in the midst of WHATEVER we are doing in our home.

Something I really enjoy is good conversation over a great cup of coffee. I attempt to stay fit so you will often see me walking “the bridge” with my wife…or working out at the YMCA! I love the outdoors and I absolutely never tire of fishing. I enjoy playing in tennis leagues in Beaufort, Bluffton, and Hilton Head. I am a sports enthusiast and I enjoy following my favorite teams. Another passion of mine is traveling, especially to participate in short-term mission trips. Two of my favorite weeks of the year are spent in Sucre, Bolivia, as Tidal Creek participates in a ministry with two amazing orphanages called “Shalom and Esperanza.”

Thanks for taking the time to read my bio! And I would love the opportunity to meet you! Email me ( so we can enjoy a cup of coffee together…I would love to hear your story!
